Tom Sawyer - A new and old movie version

I had a dream that a new movie version of "Tom Sawyer" was being produced. It was getting critical acclaim because supposedly it was handling some deeper issues that were apparently never presented in earlier film versions.

They were showing new clips along with clips from the popular 1973 version, which had two famous child actors (in reality). But as I was watching this promotional video for the new film, I was taking notice of how much I liked the older one. The boy actor had a lot of natural charm. He jumped from a cliff down onto a train bridge a little bit lower, and I thought, not many people could do that.

That's not even a scene from the book or the movie. So I don't know where that came from.

But I just kept thinking about how much I preferred the earlier 1973 version, in spite of it's lack of "serious" critical content or whatever the new film was supposed to have. I just really loved the spirit in that earlier film.

Maybe irl you are in a phase where you are looking back and forth? Evaluating life?

It feels like deep inside you might feel disappointed in how your life is right now...

Like the earlier version of you (probably from around birth?) had something else in mind?

In general, I think it was about focusing on the positive aspects of the story. That is the kind of thing that brings life.
