I thought this was interesting. While watching The Life of Andy Warhol (documentary - part two) at one point they discuss the assassination attempt.

After Warhol recovered in the hospital and at home for a time he seemed to have changed.
He believed he had died and had a fantasy, a theory or a belief about himself that God decided to give him a second chance. There was a deal that he could keep going for a while longer, but the deal could be recsinded at any time.
The silver factory of the 60's was in the past. It became more of a business.
Part 1 is pretty good, too.
