I am discusted with the way we treat our food animals.. Cows, chickens, turkey etc.

Okay... so I'm guilty of eating meat in the USA. It may be kind of hypocritical of me to say this... but im from West Virginia and when i was riding to the air port on a road ive ridden 1000s of times it started snowing really hard and i noticed that the cows had NO shelter and were standing around in the snow with an inch of it on their backs... That depressed me greatly, and I think we as humanity can do a LOT better to at least treat our food animals with more dignity and respect that THEY ALSO deserve just as much as we humans do.
Im annoyed that we spend so much money on cats and dogs to be treated with rights but we can't give a few dozen cows a nice sturdy warms shelter while they wait to be killed for us to eat..
So anyways my point is can anyone argue with me that im wrong????? And do you think that humanitys karma as a whole is depleting due to this purposeful treatment of animals??

(dont get me wrong i love cats and dogs my dog is my best friend)

Yes animals should be treated with care.

People should help them out of compassion, not fear beliefs in karma..

And yes there is discrimination when it comes to species, we all do it with the choices we make (food, clothes etc.).

So true, we as humans care little for animals in general. Moreover, we care even less for our own kind. I'm appalled at the living conditions and care of the elderly and even our own children in day care facilities. The horror stories are endless.

As for animals, they are considered lesser species and many of mankind's doctrine enforces this ideology. I've seen the stockyards and poultry farms you speak of, I agree it makes me sad. All geared for maximum production and incredibly inhuman (no pun intent). High yield, minimum space. It's all about profit, especially when the corporate world took over.
