Paper, without a doubt. Call me old fashioned, but I feel like I can rely on it more than an e-book. The battery may die, something might break, etc.
Not to mention, reading off of a screen for a long period of time makes me somewhat uncomfortable...
What about you? Any preference?

I love the old paper books, but e-books are great also, I love both.

Ugh...I do use an e-reader quite often. However, this is due to most of our book stores closing. Which makes me incredibly sad. Although, I do enjoy the convenience and the prices are much cheaper than the printed version.
Thus making me feel guilty ...I love reading...and would much prefer a book. Holding the book, turning the pages, even the smell! I have also found that when your reading a book in public it invites conversation.
Gosh, I guess I'm just a book snob...LOL : )
But regardless, either option allows us to escape, gain knowledge, and take us on journey's that we may never have dreamed of!

hi Om,
My preference is a real book. I don't really like the idea of reading for a long length of time on a computer screen, I much prefer turning the pages of a book. I didn't even think of the battery running out, or something going wrong.

It is probably easier to travel with an e- reader, certainly makes the suitcase lighter ! I remember taking a few books travelling with me, not really heavy or large books, but I did have several... got to the check in at the airport, and was just at the limit for luggage ( this happens even without books, so really no surprise there I always bring too much stuff ! ). Anyways, I was trying to figure out why my suitcase was so heavy to carry and then ... I remembered the books !

Definitely real books!!!
There's nothing quite the same as curling up in a comfy chair, or under the covers, on a stormy day/night, and reading a good book :) And yeah, the smell of a book store (or better yet, a USED book store!) or a library, is just....soothing. An ebook just isn't the same......

Save the trees, abolish paper, transcribe the whole lot onto electronic media format, besides you can get hundreds and in some cases thousands of books (an entire library) into an e reader.
Ahem, Just my opinion of course

Paper, for sure! I love the smell of a new book... the smooth 'feel' paper... I love cracking the binding... I make notes throughout the pages (especially text books). I love books, so much.
I'm starting to get used to e-books, but I really prefer the real thing. A lot of my texts (not usually the main text books, but the suggested reading materials, and such) from school are e-book or internet download only now... but they still charge a pretty penny for them lol. If I'm still going to be paying an excessive amount for a book, I'd rather have the real deal.
