Native Ways Celebration!

I know that a lot of people don't live in my area (honestly, I think I'm the only one in my own area... >_>) but I still like letting you guys know what's going on in my area if it pertains to the First People. Juuuuuuuuuuust in case someone is close enough, and decides to take a trip. =)

Okay, so here in Oroville, on Saturday, October 4th there will be an informative celebration at the Oroville Dam Visitor Center. It starts at 10 AM and goes until 4, and what it's for is to give people more information on our on local Native tribes. It gives history on how they used to live, and gives a sort of general history. There should --if I remember-- be some films on Ishi, and about the local area, as well as local Natives running booths --both selling and "take it home" crafts. There is even a mock-up of a Maidu village in the museum that was built with traditional materials, in the traditional way, and was incredibly hard-fought for. It's incredible.

It's all really fun, and really interesting, and it's all FREE!!

(And yes, I know that I'm putting this up a month in advance, but I just got the information today, and was incredibly excited to share it with you all.)

Dear Aki, I love that you share so much about your homeland and the activities there. And who knows ... maybe one day a person will show up and say "I heard about this through a friend on Spiritual Forums!"

Thank you for sharing and for welcoming us all to your homeland! Please don't ever stop.

Let us know some highlights you enjoyed at the event!
