The Exodus

According to Jerome’s translation of the Hebrew bible that was still in existence in his day, and the Hebrew bible of today, of which, the Aleppo Codex, is the oldest Hebrew Bible in existence today, and was written by scribes called Masoretes in Tiberias, Israel, around 930 C.E., from some unknown Hebrew translation, which still existed almost 1,000 years after Jesus. The Aleppo Codex is considered to be the most authoritative copy of the Hebrew Bible.


Both Jerome’s Translation in English and the Hebrew bible of today, state in Exodus 12: 40; that the Hebrews were in Egypt for 430 years to the very day, while the Septuagint, which is a Greek translation of the Hebrew bible that still existed over 200 years before Jesus, states that Abraham and his descendants were in the land of Canaan and the land of Egypt for 430 years.

Even though it can be shown scripturally that they were in the land of Canaan for 215 years and the land of Egypt for 215 years also, why is it still being taught that the Hebrew were in Egypt for 430 years and that the Exodus occurred sometime in the 13th century, while the scriptures prove that the exodus occurred around 1542 B.C., or thereabouts?

Apparently no Christians on this forum disagree to the fact that Israel was only in the land of Egypt for 215 Years, and that the current Hebrew bible and the Christians OT, are in error by stating that Israel was in Egypt for 430 to the very day. I thank you all for agreeing with me.
