Question How would you describe "Hell'

I personally don't believe in it. I'm reading a fun little book titled 'Hell and Damnation: A Sinner's Guide to Eternal Torment' by Marq de Villiers. Picked it up because- even if it's not something I think is real- it's such a fascinating concept. So many systems of belief have their own "hells", and I'd love to hear how different users here would choose to define it.
Does hell look like Betty Boop: 'Red Hot Mama'? does it look like a black experience-less pit of nothing, or does it look like a place of suffering that helps a soul better itself, forgive itself, and eventually ascend?

My opinion is that after the physical body dies we go to a place which corresponds to our own vibration, surrounded by others of similar vibration. For some, this could be one of the lower astral realms which could be considered a form of Hell, a gloomy unpleasant place filled with despair, or a dark place filled with hatred and violence. Like all the astral planes, these are the creations of human thoughts and emotions.

How long do people stay in such places? Until they have had enough and start to look for a way out. This means they have to raise their vibrations and become receptive to higher energies.

Peace

Maybe, like nightmares ...

In my opinion, it is all in your mind. If you think you will go to hell, you will end up there. Hell doesn't really exist, it is all in your head at the time of your passing. Eventually you will be pulled out of that scenario. I also agree with iamthat. But eventually we will find out for sure one day

A darker realm does exsist but it's not like what most people really think anymore. Or atleast I try not too anymore. There, are so many different world's in that title that people call that vibrational realm.Everything has it's own vibration and that's about it.

As non-existent
Having said this, if enough people belief something they will create it on some level.

That's right - I would say, tho, ya just need 'you' to create it!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Hum...hell to me is all the negative emotions out of control, such as anxiety, depression.

I have discovered who I was in a past life and she suffered mentally before she died. In modern terms I think the diagnose would have been PTSD.

So in this way - this, that lower realm was hell to me - but there were still help to get, they could still reach you there, the voices that I think belonged to people that had loved me before who had past over because I recognize them but I still did not reply.

I guess what I wish to say is that if one does feel one is in hell in the after life there is a way out, and the hell is really inside of you in shape of negative emotions and/or trauma, and there are others there telephatically to help you get to the right place.

I think, though, that free will is very much essential in all this - I can imagine that I went because I wanted to go, not because I was forced to.
