“Oneness” seeing all beings as equal is about diversity not sameness.

Man and Butterfly are equal in Spirit but not the same.
“Sameness” meaning "Oneness" - is Western conditioned mind thinking, as I understand it.

Looking into this theme a bit deeper.

Imo. “Oneness” equals “Totality” - a sum of all its parts, which are all unique. (No pine-tree in the pine forest is the same ….)

All the parts are ‘things’, but ‘Totality’ cannot be said to be a thing.
Polarity isn’t in the sameness and the difference of things.

Polarity ….. the thing and no-thing.
The stillness – forever in motion.
The timeless – unfolding as time.
The Unborn – forever in birth & death cycle …
Oneness – as multiplicity
One can experience the unity of the Timeless and Time … “Eternity shining through the temporal” … which leads to Nonduality as unconditional love, that just IS, there being no giver nor receiver of it … because Nonduality is not a thing …

Non-thought by itself doesn’t get rid off our ‘conditioning’.
If one’s awareness attention is conditioned to focus on ‘things’ (and their seeming opposites, the differences and the sameness's of them), it will do so with or without thoughts.

If one’s conditioning is more in observing the no-thing manifesting (through thing / no-thing polarity), it will also do with or without thoughts.

If that makes sense.
