I don't think I'm a Christian. What do you think?
I don't think I am a Christian because of these reasons:
1) I do believe that there is a supreme being, creator or God that created us all, the universe and the Earth but I do not think that it is everything that the Christian God is and is described as when it describes it, its purpose for us, its feelings for us, and its relationship with us
2) I do not believe there was or is a Jesus Christ that is described in the Bible. He doesn't exist.
3) Although I do I believe The Bible can help someone out I believe it was man made and it's just someone's perspective on our creator How people should be and what they think people should be like to be happy proper and to get into heaven and their spiritual thoughts. I don't think it contains moments in history where God showed or did something. I do not believe in the stories that are told in in it.
4) I don't believe that God created the hell described in Christianity.
DO YOU THINK I'M CHRISTIAN?

are you are christian?
most historians say jesus existed as there are references to him in a few roman officials writings from the time of his life. we know he was a locally popular preacher then was killed. that's all we know for sure.
his name was jesus. the word "christ" is a title and he did not have such a title while alive. followers gave that title to him. really it would read, jesus the christ. christ means the "anointed one". ... In the Greek Septuagint, christos was used to translate the Hebrew מָשִׁיחַ (Mašíaḥ, messiah) so jesus the messiah basically.
there is no legal authority that determines what beliefs are necessary to consider oneself a christian. however, individual organizations, religious or otherwise, can themselves decide though their authorities what members have to believe to be members of that particular organization or church or denomination, or whatever one calls their organized group. there are over 45,000 different organizations that have their own authorities and call themselves christian by the way.
my organization consists of just me and you can join my organization and call yourself anything you want, even a christian. i don't really have any rules except don't harm others or yourself. don't cause suffering in yourself or others to the best of your ability. love yourself, love others, and all that jazz!
what we believe is important sometimes, but who we decide to be and what we do is more important. what is the old saying and song, "and they will know we are christians by our love" some will say if you love others unconditionally, you are a christian, whether you believe in jesus or not because to them, to be a christian means to be love. beliefs don't matter there. not only that, if one is pure love, one has tapped into their true nature, the nature of god, so one is manifesting god's attributes everywhere they are and in everything they do. such a person does not need a belief about god, they know god directly.

And welcome back after years!
Added: And I just read the first 2 posts, sorry guys!! Don't hate me!
I can not call myself a Christian because there is only ONE definition,
that no one, not even a Pope or a Vatican Council has felt to change since the 4th century!
That being: You must believe in all of the Nicene Creed or called the Apostle's Creed.
Period.
Yet, from counseling Christians I feel, (ha, and my ex, an atheist), I'm the biggest Christian he's ever MET! Lol!
Oh my, Christian friends are cheats, adulterers, liars, dishonest in so many ways....BUT they ARE Christian since they believe
in every word of The Nicene Creed...they just make mistakes, they're not perfect -what else is new ---well, same with Peter!
You can like Jesus' so-called teachings (since you do not believe he existed), be the best person ever -
But, No, 100%, no, you would not be a Christian.
The BASIC premise is believing Jesus existed. Hahahahahahahaha
C'mon.
Of course, you're not Christian. Doesn't mean you're not a good person;
and even act more Christian than a self proclaimed Christian!!
A Catholic version of the Creed:
I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

Spiritual Novice,
Your first and initial thought was correct…..you are not a Christian. But not to worry…….neither are many others. The difficult part for you might be finding an arena where you can engage in God talk. For the time being your beliefs will allow you to be comfortably vague……sustained by neither science or scripture.

Sky123,
Nearly every organization, country etc. have rules to define who belongs….even the clerks at stores have the right to refuse service. If one does not believe in Christ why would he even wish to identify as such ?

Ah so you have to follow the ' Rules ' to be labelled a Christian...
Yes that makes sense, you could call it ' Control ', keeping the flock in the same field

The Apostles, early Christians and others like myself surely do/did not accept the Apostle's Creed. ,
