I had liked this show. It was good and funny during the earlier seasons, and the cast loved doing the show.. But as they drug on the premise of the show, many of the jokes became worn, and fell short. And that was taking its toll on the cast. You could tell they were just not enjoying the show anymore...

Then all that they worked for, in creating the show/story was thrown out the window in the finale, so they could have the finale they wanted to have, regardless of the show they were doing. Which made no sense to the show they were showing, and went against the character development that they created.

I felt like they contradicted their character development as well and shot hard for a quick wrap-up to the show. I think a season or a half-season of getting to know Ted's wife would have been excellent, and a leading up to the Robin conclusion. Ted's wife just kind of seems like his kid-vessel or something. I wanted to like her, but they only gave scraps.

I agree... The way it ended, made them diminish the character that was Ted's wife.. Into being really just a plot piece for the character to have kids... Then the ending was forced, and made no sense, for the development they made in selling that relationship as never working. However had the story have been done differently, and written better into what they wanted it to be, instead of saying, it's over, here's the ending we always wanted. It would have made more sense. And the stretched out last season, should have been only two-four episodes, and they should have done more with the Mother.
