LAKHOTA SYMBOLS

Thunderbird represents the highest peak of the Black Hills in South Dakota where Thunderbird nests. He is both a powerful and terrifying figure in Lakota stories. Also known as, Wakinyan, He is the guardian of TRUTH and has been known to kill liars when lightning bolts bullet from his eyes and flow out his beak. Never mess with Thunderbird!!

yinepu, I found your link on thunderbirds wanting, here is one with a bit more info:

sorry, wikipedia tends to be limited when it comes to mythology, which I find slightly annoying, I've been meaning to try and fix that. being drawn to a thunderbird is good news for you, also that's an awesome ring. ^^

Thunderbird symbolically is a protective spirit.
Thunderbird brings the storms, which help the people and animals prosper.

Its feared because of old legends of a giant bird that would snatch people as food until a hero shot an arrow that brought it down.

Its linked to the elementals, my suggestion would be to google thunderbird and read the different stories that pertain to it to find the message for you. It seems confusing because there is no 'bible' per say for native spirituality, its in the stories that are spoken and handed down.

I believe it is good because its the beginning of learning another path. Happy hunting!
