Just bought the King James Bible.
I have heard a lot about the King James Bible. Some say it is the definitive version. I have the New International Version and a couple of other versions of just the New Testament but I wanted to treat myself and so bought the King James Version. It comes in two books; one for the New Testament and one for the Old Testament. It is published by the Everyman Library Classics. Really looking forward to receiving them.

While reading your new bible keep in mind the Man who was viciously tortured and murdered for the so called ' Holy Books ' you have just ordered.
The lasting monument to his martyrdom is 90% of the King James Version of the bible was written by Him, William Tyndale RIP.

Had to check wikipedia since I had never heard of him. Very interesting character. Wiki states that about 75-80% of the KJV is his work rather than 90%. But that is still a huge achievement.

When I was young man and found the Bible (KJ version) fascinating I scraped together my last money and bought myself a Bible Concordance. This came into my mind when I read your post.
Now, in these internet days I see that it now exists online.
Maybe this helps for needed references.

Do you know which version you purchased?
Was it the New King James Version?

There are so many versions of that Bible, I sometimes wonder if anybody knows how many versions there are.
Having said that, I am sure you will find it to be very interesting. I think just about everybody that gets their first Bible, it is a King James version.
I used to do message work using a Bible.
How you do it is have a person closes their eyes, turn the Bible upside down, etc., and after numerous times of doing this, have them open the Bible and point to a scripture while their eyes are closed. And then I would develop a message for that person based on what they picked out.
