Question "Enlightenment"

After I started going into human suffering I've noticed that every single one of us wants to attain some sort of freedom, each has own idea of what freedom is, but all we trully want is to be rid of inner shacles, we use different methods to do this believing it will bring us to so desired destenation. But only few claim to achieve this. I've never met enlightenment person in my wole life, but I've read about them and their knowlage makes me feel better, but doesnt take my trouble away. Knowing that I am considering that I might go through my whole life of struggle without achieving that so desiered state.

Hi EyeaM. Inner peace and happiness is IMO all we need. That, and having someone's lovely warm body to cuddle up to once in a while, heh. That's the only spiritual state I'm looking to achieve in this life. Love of self, love of life, and love of other: that's "enlightenment" as I see it.

If you are only going to listen to these so called Enlightened people, that's as far as you will ever go. You must follow the words to where they point, you must investigate for your self. Listing with the mind will only cause the mind to try and work it out intellectually, drop the mind and listen from within, not with the ears, but with the heart.

EyeaM - bear in mind that there is a significant debate in itself as to what constitutes enlightenment. There have been threads on it. How would you define it for yourself - these ridding of inner shackles? You seem to imply that it is more than freedom.

Lol I've to agree with everything you said Baile. ^^ To cuddle with some warm body sure is like a cherry on top.

psychoslice for now I only TRY rather than DO. And this kinda buggs me:/, but ty, you point out significant things.

Hello, amy green its nice to see you on forums like this, you sure are young :)! Freedom, I wouldnt say there is something more than that but rather there is something esle (to me atleast) which overwhelms me at times.
I understand I might be just silly to claim those things but thats just how I feel.

Thank you for your time, I wish you well. <3

I did a double-take when I read that! Then I read amy's profile: 63 years young (adolescent even!). Ha! Funny (and nice) thing about growing older: you still feel like a young person, but without all the confusion, insecurity and angst. I was that way as a kid anyway... I always say when I incarnate again, I'm coming back as a 45 year-old. I never want to experience those first four decades again.

Maybe it depends what those decades were in.

I guess I struck lucky since I was a hippy in my teens - hence the legacy of slight rebelliousness/adolescence still!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

My favorite Hafiz poem....nice seque... thanks...

Let thought become the beautiful woman.
Cultivate your mind and heart to that depth
That it can give you everything
A warm body can.
Why just keep making love with God's child -- Form
When the Friend Himself is standing
Before us
So open-armed?

My dear,
Let prayer become your beautiful Lover
And become free,
Become free of this whole world
Like Hafiz.
