Depression and being in a relationship..

Its really kinda hard to be in a relationship, especially one where i want nothing but the best for the other person and at the same time im not fully able to give the best of myself at all times..even like more than half the time

I know that only i can heal myself and it is not their responsibility to make me happy. So its confusing, when they are sort of like a pick me up..then when theyre not around all i can do is either try not to be too much in my thoughts about the relationship, or just surrender to it and think about them all i want.

Im not sure which is better or even if there is a "better"

I guess i can focus more on healing my depression. For some reason when the sun goes down is when i get most depressed. And thats the time that we talk.

Hmm so does anyone have any stories of how they overcame depression and alone i mean by not relying on your partner?...thank you

Therapy/ counseling... It can give you tools on how to cope with the depression and have someone who is a professional to talk to. A larger support system/ network can help too. (Websites, other friends, etc)

You need to focus on yourself and focus on self love. Unless you love yourself unconditionally, you will always have issues related to relationships.
