I believe that too. I wasn't really trying to underestimate Him. One thing bhakti does for sure is the creation of humility in the bhaktar. It's basically practice at being humble. For example, no physical position is quite as vulnerable as a full out prostration.

Hi,

I know a number of people who had encountered Ganesha in their dreams. I am also told that he can be cheeky and that he has a great sense of humour. So ask Ganesha to come in your dreams. And don't get too anxious about it. Just have faith and he will come and talk to you.

You know sometimes I wonder...I have the most beautiful
bust/head of Genesha on my wall at my front door...
I rub his third eye sometimes and ask him...Take away
any obstacles for me to spiritual attainment.

and I must say....I can't quite explain how many
blocks and limitations and concepts...have melted away!
Just in the last 6 months!
I am a different person from last YEAR!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Many Hindu homes have a Ganesha murty or picture somewhere near the entrance. Makes a very refined 'welcome'.

Here's some bhakti for you .. (apologies if I linked this before) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlcctHb5lkU
