You know how in the 60s you had many of those leaving – going away songs … youth seeking alternative realities.
In the 70s there were so many Americans in Europe broadening their horizons.
From other travellers, I suppose, they also learned about the Hippie Trail and joined.
Those that went to India – Goa, formed a hippie community there.
Some of those that went to Nepal came back Buddhist and started to spread the word about Buddhism.
But
everybody whom I’ve met, who had been on the Hippie Trail
loved Afghanistan and its people.
(Hard to imagine now).
Since I had heard so much about the Trail, I too made an intent to go to India one day.
But this thread brought the subject up to my mind and thanks to Youtube I could research it now, which made me realize that what I had been looking for started in Darwin when I met the Aboriginal Elder and got hooked.
Though one always comes across hippies and ferals – it just isn’t my ‘scene’, so now I can finally let go of that old, old intent to go to India, which had been there in the back of my mind.
BTW - had been waiting for Black Sabbath

Ah, and the things that come up ….
Now I’ve been thinking – how come some Pimas looked like South Sea Islanders?
Found that picture:

- when we did an extensive DNA project learning about Karitiana, Surui, pre-Colombian something, Pima and mainly Maya little bits that we have got and was really taken back when I saw the picture.
Now I’m learning that Pima and Maya have got Polynesian dna ???? from some ancient travels ???

There must be something to it.
