Sikhism is considered as one of the indigenous Dharmic religions that originated in India. They are a monotheistic religion like Judaism, Islam and the Bahai religion, with the difference being that the Sikhs also hold belief in reincarnation. They worship the monotheistic incorporeal God.
Sikh comes from the Sanskrit word 'Shishya' meaning disciple.
The Sikh philosophy is similar to the other Hindu monotheistic sects like the Arya Samaj and Prajapita Brahmakumaris in that they are monotheistic, have belief in reincarnation, rejects casteism and upholds equality and fraternity of all human beings.
Ik Onkaar, Waheguru, Shiva and Allah are all names of the one incorporeal God in Sikhism.
Etymologically, the word onkar denotes the sacred sound Om or the Absolute in the other Indian religions.

Thanks, California has many Sikhs. They even own a lot of liquor stores and motels.
So they do do reincarnation.

I knew this at one time!
Is Sikh Muslim or Hindu?
Sikhs, followers of the Sikh religion, centered in northwestern India... Sikhism is an ethical monotheism fusing
elements of Hinduism and Islam. It was founded by Nanak (1469-1539), a mystic who believed
that God transcends religious distinctions.
I love Guru Nanak quotes.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

A motel I stayed at had a poster of guru Nanak in the office. I tried looking up quotes of guru Nanak, that’s a good idea.
I like this quote, “Death would not be called bad, O people, if one knew how to truly die.”

''Even Kings and emperors with heaps of wealth and vast dominion
cannot compare with an ant filled with the love of God.'
