round cirle of candle lights...

Hello all, my apologies if I place this wrong.

someone who knew my ex said the ex, would be sitting down on the floor, saw it not only one time, had a circle of candle lights and then he was not (like I thought this one time) outside the candle lights, but he had placed himself where the lights of candle would have been to complete a circle of candle lights. Inside of this cirle there was a photo of me (and too something else of me? he is insecure about what was in the cirle except for the photograph, could not see it too well). The ex was not attentive in our world.

I have looked up on wikipedia, youtube, that it is not unusual to have circles of candle lights, but could the friend see things right? Why would the ex be placed as part of the circle instead of where initially more candle lights would be?

the way I think it should have been, but I am not familiar with this, I don't practise this, is he should be outside of it? Or inside of it? Circles can have an invisible door to open, and then close, then there is a gap of a circle (but this is where the ex had placed his own body sitting up).

I am wanting to find out (but it may just be real diffficult or impossible) what kind of spell he could have done with the circle. I am hoping that the look of the circle and his own position would let me know something, but I can't find anything on it. Was he an amateur? Did it wrong?

He would use piece of my hair (too without me knowing about it then) to one ritual. (I saw a pegan woman cut a piece of her own hair in one youtube video)

When we were a couple, and the time apart I never knew he would do things like that. I do think he had visions of the future or knew things he could not explain. I did not know about the rest.
