I think sometimes our ego gets in the way, or we are somehow purposely sabotaging ourselves for some subconscious reason.
Anyway, the times I have been successful at listening to that inner voice, I was always better off than all those times when I ignored it.

Not sure how Buddhism defines it but I'm interested in what you have to say.
How do you "hear" your "inner voice" GlitterRose?

They can be. If you react to them that reaction will disrupt the meditation state. However, the broader perspective would be you are aware of the reactivity you generate and its affect on your peace of mind, which is, in itself, an insight into the cause of suffering.

Your just adding more into the mind, rather than just staying present with what arises as it is.
I’m not saying you don’t need a foundation of knowledge of what you can aspire too, but ultimately that can steer you into another pattern of unnecessary attachment

JustBe,
There are many great Buddhist teachers who can explain it well and simply too.
Or you could sit in meditation and see it for yourself (Aka Gem)

It's quite common to see various Meditation practices being called ' Buddhist ' when they are far from being so.
Plenty of info: online as to what's what ... I like TNH's Walking Meditation Teachings
