Yes. It is difficult for Christians to reconcile annihilation or eternal hell by God's judgment, and by His will, with a just and loving God. Forcing under threat of the above to believe in Him is also irreconcilable. I'm not sure about the Christian position on free will, but I think the saying 'you reap what you sow' strongly affirms it, however, the will of God must necessarily overrule that of a human being's. The inevitable premises in Christian logic is, the human has free will except with regard to consequences - which are ultimately according God's judgment - and that doesn't make a lot of sense.

If it makes no sense, then what is the motive? Whatever the motive is, the influence is don't employ reason, discernment and rationality because inconsistency in the faith will undermine your belief, and for that you burn in hell.

Conclusion: Christianity ultimately uses fear to manipulate people, and therefore, the ode to love is hypocritical.

Events like the giving of The Ten Commandments came to my mind and I thought that I would be slighting Moses or being patronising just because he lived in ancient times , of course these may have been mistranslated later.

No one really knows what was written is true , the bible was translated by man
next you have another bible written by man. so they write it to suit themselves
it is all pure Conjecture,

Someone could change your post over time each time a reply is added , but we have your original post to refer back to, so if originals of events and sayings exist then that would be one way of accepting what is true, another way is to find a disciplinic line of succession, people who are authoritive scribes and can be trusted with the works. We could also test the words instructions out ourselves to see if they are true, I suppose some parables and other lessons have stood the test of time.

This is the accepted line of succession for the
Bhagavad-gita
So I guess those mentioned are trusted with presenting it for those times.(no others as I think there are quite a few versions out today, even Prabhupada's own has been slightly altered, but still possible to get the original as-it-is))

THE DISCIPLIC SUCCESSION
Evam parampara-praptam iman rajarsayo viduh. (Bhagavad-gita, 4.2) This Bhagavad-gita As It Is is received through this disciplic succession:1) Krsna, 2) Brahma, 3) Narada; 4) Vyasa, 5) Madhva, 6) Padmanabha, 7) Nrhari, 8) Madhava, 9) Aksobhya, 10) Jayatirtha, 11) Jñanasindhu, 12) Dayanidhi, 13) Vidyanidhi, 14) Rajendra, 15) Jayadharma, 16) Purusottama, 17) Brahmahyatirtha, 18) Vyasatirtha, 19) Laksmipati, 20) Madhavendra Puri, 21) Isvara Puri, (Nityananda, Advaita), 22) Lord Caitanya, 23) Rupa (Svarupa, Sanatana), 24) Raghunatha, Jiva, 25) Krsnadasa, 26) Narottama, 27) Visvanatha, 28) (Baladeva) Jagannatha, 29) Bhaktivinode, 30) Gaurakisora, 31) Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, 32) His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

And that is exactly how Buddhism works, you use The Buddha's teachings and apply them to your life, if they are beneficial use them, if they are not of benefit to yourself and how you treat others, discard them....

I often wonder if the Ten Commandments were inspired by the 42 Laws of Maat used in Ancient Egypt... Moses is said to have been raised in Egypt and would have been aware of these Laws.

It's probably best not to confuse written words with the perfection of The Creator...
Judge God by God and judge words by their writers...
Also by who's standards do you judge???

...Peace...
