Along with knowledge of its working, meditation as in awareness or witnessing is also important for better mind management. It is by self-awareness that one can keep a distance from the mind and not be lead or coerced by negative thoughts and emotions to unconscious activity of a vicious nature.

No Spiritual Scripture like BG is useful/valuable tool, when the student is not really suffering of the Material desires or not eager to know the truth of Actuality. Just "Pundits" (Intellectual Dictionary) they become, no use but just words.

Including Meditation. If Yama and Niyama not happen to be understood and followed, then Pandit/Scholar. Name and Fame and Money, but of no use in management.

For me, the second chapter of BhagawadGita is the most important. Among the many profound verses is this (but with a translation different from what is given by Prabhupada):

"nāsato vidyate bhāvo, nābhāvo vidyate sataḥ;
ubhayah api dṛṣṭan antah, tu anayah tattva-darśibhiḥ.
" BG 2.16

Of the non-existence there is no endurance, the eternal does not change; by studying the nature of both, the knowledgeables have concluded this.
* Soul is not mentioned in the verse, that is Prabhupada's addition.

I love 13th Chapter of these because, it covers importance of all chapters and all scriptures from all religions from the bolded texts, as anything paves way for spiritual knowledge and philosophical pursuit.

Even pundits are important to ensure that proper intellectual understanding is there, or else society would be hijacked by fraudsters and pseudo-scholars like Virochana.

But I do agree that experiential understanding is superior to mere intellectual understanding.

But precise intellectual understanding is superior to delusional understanding, intentional fraud and nonsense.

Yes, yama and niyamas , which are the moral pillars that go alongside yogic practice ( such as honesty, truthfulness, independence, nonviolence) is also important.

Character is superior to mere intellect. The intellect itself is sharpened on the whetstone of character and character traits like honesty, truthfulness and due diligence
