Urine should be clear.

If it's yellow in colour, that simply indicates the presence of vitamin B2 (a.k.a. riboflavin). That's fine.

Healthy urine should have a slight smell of apples about it.

As has already been mentioned by Amy, if it's dark in colour you need to drink more to flush the kidneys out.

If there is a smell other than apples, esp. if it's unpleasant, this would suggest a possible bladder or kidney infection.

Green tea is lovely, I like it with Jasmin. However that tends to be a small drink which could make you think you have had enough when really you would need to drink up to 8 cups a day to get the right amount of liquid.

I like to have my bottle of water with me and just sip from it, then I can fool myself into drinking more. But then there is no reason why you couldn't have a bottle of something else and do the same.

How do the other forum people feel about this? Do they drink this much water and if they do, how has it benefited them?

Thanx for the reminder.
I was doing this for a few months but have gotten lazy-sloppy about getting plenty of water. It's a habit worth developing, to drink more than one needs simply to stave off thirst.

Water therapy advocats recommends 4 liters a day, but for many this is near impossible.

Just to compound the water issue further, the Japanese believe that you get the maximum health benefits from drinking water on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning.

Thanks sesheta, I drink green tea and realize its benefits. Another one that is even higher in antioxidants is a South African tea called "Roibos" (mean Red Bush) It is very pleasant tasting and very healthy.

I don't know about others but I find myself phenomenally sleepy if I don't drink enough water ! Half an hour of a large slug of water (and I mean large slug) then I find I am transformed.

I really like the look of the Onya stuff.

I used to find it hard too, to drink enough water. There were times where I would drink nothing at all, never feeling thirst. I worked on this gradually, and now, I feel thirst all the time. I can easily drink 5 liters of water a day now! It gives me more energy, makes me sleep better and feel overall refreshed, like my brain is working better (if that makes sense!). My advice is to start adding one glass of water more each day/week until you are content with your water intake. Good luck :)

thing is a lot of us think we are hungry when we are actually thirsty so I try to drink water if I'm not sure.

Sorry to say, I tried Red Bush and it was horrible, but then I don't like black tea either.
