Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Happiness is your nature. It is not wrong to desire it.
What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside.

Where did he say that? It sounds like a misquote of John 14:6. But I concede that he may have made a remark such as that in a noncanonical gospel; although, I don't recall it.

Just as a solid rock is not shaken by the storm, even so the wise are not affected by praise or blame. - Buddha Shakyamuni, Dhammapada

He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? If then you are not able to do so small a thing as that, why do you worry about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! - Jesus of Nazareth, Gospel according to Luke 12:22-28

To find a buddha, you have to see your nature. Whoever sees his nature is a buddha. If you don't see your nature, invoking buddhas, reciting sutras, making offerings and keeping precepts are all useless. - Bodhidharma

Ah, so many more. Great topic
