Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East by Baird T. Spalding

I posted the reference to the Baird Spalding's books on another SF site, but see that it fits more appropriately in this discussion.

...also love Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach (see the PDF in my signature line)

Hope you agree...

Enjoy!

I would dearly love to go and have a past regression session myself.

Love love love all of the Newton books. I have a friend that runs my reiki group and she is a licensed hypnotist. We got to talking about his books (she'd never heard of him). I let her borrow his first book and she was so interested in it that she signed up for the course in August. She's willing to let me be her guinea pig! I'm so excited to go home for a little while to re-energize myself and hopefully get a progress report!

Fabulous book! I have a good friend with an amazing story of synchronicity that led him to that book in college.

I am just starting to RE-visit Baird Spalding's book, The Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East, and he presents an interesting enigma that I am just now in the process of considering.

While credible doubts have indeed been raised about the authenticity of his reported travels among the masters and questions have even been raised about his mental stability, I am now paying more attention to the message as opposed to the messenger himself. Having been to the Khumba Mela with my own spiritual mentor and having personally met some remarkable beings myself, I am discovering that the little portions of Spalding's book that I have re-read thus far are resonating. However, my investigation is not yet complete.

I am wondering whether any other members here have read much of Spalding's 6-volume publication, which many consider to be fictional in nature, and what have been your observations on the MESSAGE.

The first book I ever read that truly woke me up inside was - Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig.

I also liked Illusions by Richard Bach, Dancing In The Light by Shirley McLaine, Grist For The Mill by Ram Dass, The Prophet by Khalil Gibran, Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse (preferred it to Siddharta), Chariots Of The Gods by Eric Von Daniken, The Emperor's New Mind by Roger Penrose...there's more but that will do.

The Harry Potter book series.

The series didn't trigger my awakening (I picked up the first book years ago as
a child), but it certainly aided me on my journey towards said awakening. The
books helped me through some very tough times and taught me countless
lessons, Severus Snape being the character I gained most from.

It is, up until now, my very favourite fictional universe.

Apart from that, I consider "The Present" by Michael Smith to be a very
valuable read indeed -- it's for free, because truth is invaluable and everyone
should have access to it.
