It's a book, written by man, just like any other book..
Take what resonates and discard the rest..

I think that in order to understand the Bible, one would need the Holy Spirit to teach them and as an added advantage, would have their understanding awakened. Otherwise we'd have all sorts of opinions flying around.

It is a Love letter. Take it to heart, go Live in Love and your path Will be the author-ity on your Life..

It can also be used as Fire starter in a pinch, which may save your Life.
Peace..

Aknaton,

That awakening is directly referenced in your sign of verse of John 16:7. It reminds us of the Beatitude….”Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.” One mourns due to the experience of a loss,,,,,either person or object. Object is very broad. It could be status, material loss, etc. But in all cases it implies relationships. Oddly enough it is relationships that ensure us and make us captives to this world. Therefore the result of losing a relationship is the gaining of freedom…..wanted or not….but if understood in the correct way can be a fresh start.

I have to wonder if this is not the lesson and promise of “the dark night of the soul” ?? I, like everyone, have had my share of fresh starts….leaving for university, living abroad, losing thr farm, divorce, moving in country, changing churches, etc. Each one involved a loss of relationship and, also, a gaining of freedom…..and, yes, new snares….😊😊. In particular the change of churches has been significant…..the shortcomings of religion are much more apparent now and the trap of relationships is more apparent. It amounts to a newfound freedom which is worth guarding.

If there is a ‘going away of Christ’…….maybe it is the religious Christ in favor of the spiritual Christ. The Comforter brings insight and much more..

So many points made here, I agree it is very male driven, I think so much money and energy is wasted on worship, humanity could be better if this was used to solve some of the world’s biggest problems. I hate how all political debates are influenced by bible teachings, gay rights, race, abortion, war etc… It does not bring happiness and well being, instead it prevents humanity from rising to the next level. Time to wake up!

Poorly edited, highly plagiarized.
It was originally some collected stories by a wandering tribe. People later tried to puff it up with importance, and that is when the problems came in. Still has some good ideas in it, but easier to get the same messages from other books.

Hmm, good post. But, that's because I agree.

Gay is not a sin.
Anyone that goes out killing gay people were obviously born with a few screws loose unlike gay people that in my experience are born sensitive .
