Funny!
I
just wrote on this topic in the Spirituality /sexuality sub forum.
I have a problem when I hear often the word ''embrace''...I know what an embrace is
and I will not ''embrace'' a thought
that pops in of hating someone that betrayed me or a thought of worry , fear or dread ...
as I had many years ago before my head left my pillow in the morning!
(Feeling a victim of these thoughts!)
And I know people disagree - but, this is what worked for me.
Freedom of choice, yes. I learned to practice Thought Control.
What worked for me was consistently, gently 'changing the channel' on unwanted thoughts, as easily as we change channels on the TV.
So simple.
New pathways in my brain formed and now these thoughts are RARE ...and
still waved away, by choice; focusing on, replaced with what I
choose to focus on - Positive, constructive and heavenly thoughts.
Thank God - what awful things they were!
We have the tiller in our hands that moves the rudder of our boat, I found. Yay!
