are you practising yoga or boga

Dear spirits..

Have you been practicing YOGA for a long time,
your body is becoming more flexible, health is getting better
but "the promise of peace, tranquility, harmony in your life and around you " is still no where to be found.
Life is still up and down.
There is still a challenge to get yourself to the mat?
The joy of the practice is still somewhere in the dark?
Still running around to find a teacher or a group class as you
can't practice on your own?

Then perhaps you haven't yet tapped into the magic of yoga.
For you to experience what yoga is
you have to first RELAX.
FIND THE RELAXATION OR CALMNESS in the postures or asanas.

I still find students after years of practice... looking "constipated" on the class room floor.
They are very flexible but that doesn't seem to be enough
they push and the face, changes to many shades
the forehead stays all wrinkled and squeezed
like emptying a toothpaste
the shoulders piled up like they are carrying the weight of the world

what is happening?
this isn't what yoga is suppose to bring you.

Problem is
you are doing yoga MECHANICALLY
you have read a lot and have convinced yourself that it is good for you
then you go on the mat and do the same thing again in your life
put a lot of effort and then you hope that in time ..
some blossoming day in the future
you will wake up as super yogi.

This is is not it.
THe experience of yoga can be felt here and now
but for it to be in a "snap"
you have to believe it totally

Think of it like.. you need some preparing time
so that the body can actually handle
the shift

So what to do till then?
invite the mind and the intellect

when you are in an asana
work towards finding relaxation in the pose
this will get rid of the opposing force of tension.
when the body starts to relax
become aware of your body relaxing
that is THE KEY

Keep a relaxed attitude of witnessing what is happening
don't force yourself to see this or that ( what you have read)
it will only give you boredom and a headache

this process of becoming aware of the responses of relaxation
sharpens the mind.

as the body becomes more and more comfortable in the poses
the mind will become quieter and quieter
from there the magic will spring up.

in the early stages
as you get into an asana or pose
be comfortable
watch the body breathing (make sure your breath is flowing smoothly)
or watch the sensations
or watch the relaxation ( as muscle fibers, flesh, skin all start to release
become aware of what is happening

THIS WILL GIVE THE MIND SOMETHING TO FOCUS ON
IT WILL BE LIKE A JOURNEY EVERY TIME YOU GO TO DO THE PRACTISE

soon awareness will go deeper as you come to witness
neurons firing...
little bolts of electricity..
bubbles popping
energy moving..

NOW IT GETTING MORE AND MORE FUN

then eventually you will come to feel a vibration.. sweeping through the body.
your body starts make the shift at a cellular level.

Intuition becomes more sharp and in the forefront
effort calmly takes a back seat...

your inner guide will awaken

you will come to see that there is more and more similarities
in people, things, practices and all of life....
you get the point.

YOU ARE THE CREATOR
YOU ARE ALSO THE ACTOR
WHEN THE ACTOR REALIZES ( BEYOND ANY DOUBT) THAT HE IS THE CREATOR
THEN A RADICAL SHIFT IS EXPERIENCED.

AS AN ACTOR, ON HAS THE ACCESS TO TOOLS TO
THE ART OF LIVING...(manifesting an incredible life) by accessing
THE MYRIAD OF SPIRITUAL PRACTICES OUT THERE
THESE TOOLS WILL HELP THE ACTOR
TO HAVE ALL THE EXPERIENCES HE DESIRES

WHEN THE DESIRES ARE EXHAUSTED
BOREDOM ( OFTEN) WILL SET IN
THEN HE WILL WANT FREEDOM FROM THIS ACTOR ROLE

THE JOURNEY STARTS
TO REALIZING HE IS THE
CREATOR

THis culmination
of the body merging
into the mind
merging into the spirit

THis is yoga.

any questions or comments

I would love to indulge

Namaste..

Lately I've been relaxing more into the poses now that I know how to do them, and I'm not so stressed out worrying about my poses etc, I'm just more relaxed and just let my body breath into it.
Beautiful.

I love your post about yoga! I am introducing children to yoga at school and it is amazing to hear their comments on what they felt...I had one boy (who is very high strung, never still or quiet) get into it totally...and then at the end of the 2nd class...he walked up to me and said "that felt awesome, I could feel it through all of my body, I have never had that feeling". I was shocked and amazed!! I am loving it...

Thank you so much for posting your experiences.
It helps me get some feed back about my thoughts.

I know what I feel intuitively, however sometimes conversing with people where I live, they feel perhaps my ideas of yoga are a bit far out.
I really don't think so.

so thank you again for your comments and encouragement

One main idea I have about yoga and maybe why some feel your ideas are a bit out there, Eptah, I believe that you get out of yoga what you put into it...Some do not put there whole self into it, just use it as a means of stretching, relaxing, etc. INSTEAD of experiencing it...hope that makes sense??
