Is it really bad luck to break a mirror?

Hi, so I don't necessarily believe in the whole superstition that breaking a mirror can cause one to have bad luck, but I was just wondering if there is any sort of truth to this belief. Should I go about disposing a broken mirror properly to avoid any spiritual oversights? I was just wondering if any of you have any experience with this. (BTW when I accidentally broke my mirror, it was face down and thankfully none of my body was reflected off if it.)

It is a bad sign only if you believe to be a bad sign. If you have doubts, you probably believe it to some degree, so you should work on changing your belief. In the mean time, tell yourself that it's gonna be fine, while also being careful.

Noooooo.....
Just superstition and old wives tales .
If we believe them we live in fear of them and it's never good living in fear !!
If course we DO have to be sensible in everyday things I:e don't walk under a ladder if there is risk involved etc.
But you've got me thinking now about where these "unlucky" things originated from. So of course now I've got to research the origins......

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I agree with Native Spirit

On the practical physical side of it, watch out for the debris.

Fully agree.
If we trip over the black cat and break our neck it could be deemed as "unlucky "...
Thanks miss H for the link about the broken mirror.
I'll read later.

Yeah. Thank you guys for clearing this up. I figured it was simply an old wives tale. However what gave me cause to pause was the fact that it is said that mirror magic is indeed real and there is a very real power in working with mirrors, so I was just wondering in the back of my mind if breaking a mirror & it being a bad omen tied in with the power of mirror magic in any way.

Have any of you guys broken a mirror (and looked at your reflection in it afterwards)? And were you fine after (and for the next 7 years apparently)?

Bad luck is a definite possibility. Spirits can be attached to objects that they cherished in life.
