I was just seeing on Twitter a bunch of magazine covers. Best woman fighter, Highest paid CEO, Woman of the year, apart from some swimmers, weightlifters etc, were born male, and I can't help buy think... surely this should be for females.

For now there's a few trans here and there, but when we start seeing the whole women's podium 1,2,3rd with all trans... it's going to become obvious that men have advantages which don't magically vanish - and we can't pretend.

Then, we don't really want to exclude trans from competitive sports, so we will have to adjust to circumstance, something like if trans take a place in comp, or all the places on a podium, there still needs to be 3 places and medals for females who 'chose' to be women - if we are going to say that is a choice.

Perhaps you have a very strict notion on what is a man and a woman. What is it really about? Genitalia? Can be removed/changed. Hormone levels? Can change. Presentation? Can change. Social behaviour? Can change.

If they undergo all those changes than I no longer consider them ''men''.

Being born male has already given you a different skeleton including massive structures like the hips. Girls often grow a bit faster, but a comparable maturity boy will beat girls on average. As soon as puberty hits, wave goodbye. Pumping a bloke with hormones later on doesn't change bone structure and density, lung capacity or average height etc (long list).

Not many people know that women accrue muscle mass just as fast as men do by percentage, but men have a different skeletal muscle/tendon structure due to characteristics of their skeletons, and they start with much more muscle mass than females. As they accrue muscle of an equal percentage to women, well, percentage compounded is an extreme difference. Female hormones do not decrease the rate at which muscle tissue accrues. Hence, a trans will accrue a lot more muscle mass and still have less body fat percentage than a born female - which is obvious to see.

Personally, I do have a narrow conception of men and women. If your born a girl you're female and born a boy you're male, just like any other mammal *Deleted*. However, I'm not everyone, and other people say other things with the political view we can be whatever we want.

In sports we don't really want to exclude trans athletes, but we want to compete in a way that's fair. Given the same training and resolve, the one with best genetics for the task will win. A born male is not the same kinda critter is a born female, so pretending they are is unfair.

Competition is never really fair. There's always difference in strength, stamina, talent, etc. Between women, between men. Why can't a trans woman compete with other women? What's the standard that they have to follow? If some have too broad shoulders or too much strength than the same can be true for someone born a girl. But then we ''accept'' it..

There was a lot of rage (especially among conservative Christians) about a trans woman competing in the Olympics, yet she didn't win a medal. People only make an issue out of it when trans women suddenly win a competition. It's interesting how the religious people are saying others are into identity politics, when they themselves are just the same.

The best genetics for the task will win, but males have genetic advantages that no woman has, which is why historically no woman champion has beaten a record held by a male champion. Not even close. In anything. Ever.

Well, it comes from the top, a consensus of opinions...Closing the thread now.
Pick a reason, there are a few. Started out fine, tho, ArcticWolf.
Fine topic to discuss, and have opinions on, just not for Spiritual Forums.
