😃2 COMMANDMENTS GIVEN BY JESUS😃

Jesus spoke of the greatest commandment and the second greatest commandment.

Matthew 22:34-40 records that conversation from the (NIV)


Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.
One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied:
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”


In this day and age, why are these two commandments so difficult to follow?

In this day and age, why are these two commandments so difficult to follow?

first John, it's because we're living in the last days of satan's wicked system. Jehovah told us through Jesus, that the love from MANY will grow cold ,(Matt. 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold). many will become lovers of everything that goes against Jehovah God and Jesus ,(2Tim. 3:1-5 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away)!

You made me think again on those commandments.

It appears what Jesus was saying is that everything revolves around love. And this would be a true identifier of who are his people.

sorry for the late response, but yes!... you are so right! a true Christian, should love EVERYONE. when we obey Jesus Father, Jehovah, we become Jesus his Spiritual family ,(Matt. 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother). so it would be fitting to for Jesus command ,(John 13:34,35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another”).

Jesus' new commandment, found in 13:34, 35, is a major identifier of his followers. I assume if one love one another, then they would not fight nor condone fighting, like in war, with one another. If that is one metric then I would say a considerable number of people are not Jesus' true followers.'.
