Re-incarnation happens because of strong unfulfilled desires in the previous life on earth. I am skipping childhood here because the period is not seriously accountable. When the independent individual is out on his own, then the desires that were suppressed are unleashed. What could be some of these desires that were not achievable in the previous birth? The things that money can’t buy. Love, fame, pursuing a favorite career etc. The quest to fulfill these begins. But this is karma. How does the person gets lost in this venture? Why does he not succeed in attaining nirvana? The means used to reach these goals could be wrong sometimes. It is seldom that a person can achieve their goal in a righteous and legal manner. They would have been subject to use malicious methods to bypass certain obstacles. If someone’s life or goal was damaged by this act, then beneficiary picks up the sin. That becomes an additional baggage to lose. Salvation moves a mile away. People are not always aware of the side effects of their deed. There is sufficient distraction in this world to load the burden of sins on to the individuals back. In the process of achieving the desires, the person has earned sins. If the person is lucky enough to tread into spirituality, there is a good chance he would shake off the unwanted baggage in this life. Otherwise the whole play could be repeated.
