Family got me a dog

Background: when I was a teen, I bought a mouse as a pet, and my mom asked me to get rid of it, and promised me she would get me a dog instead. So I did. She brought home a poodle puppy, had us all sit down, and she made like she was going to hand it to me, then handed it to my sister. I told my dad what had happened, and instead of giving it to me, my mom took it back and got angry at me, and my sister was angry at me.

So, the dream: I had a dream last night where I went to my parents house now and they said there's a surprise on the couch for you, and I go over and there is a bernese mountain dog/shepherd puppy. I got really tearful and gave it a hug, but it seemed not to care that I was even there. It just laid there as I hugged it. But I was happy that they finally got me the dog.

I found the dream interesting because of the incident with the mouse, but also, I'd never adopt a dog so big, and I highly doubt my parents would ever actually buy me a dog. I am 40 now and if I want a dog I will go get one myself.

When it is time, and I have a house big enough, and can give it the proper attention, I will get one.
