Writing affirmations

Is writing affirmations every day about 10 times more effective than saying affirmations? Perhaps it works just as well if you say the affirmations.

I'd say writing could supplement voiced affirmations but doesn't have quite the immediacy of speaking them out.

It really depends on what you're affirming and if you link it with visuals - such as concentrating on part of your body you want to bring back to health. If you can visualise while you're writing, fine.

Ideally an affirmation should be as succinct as possible but sometimes a more detailed predicate comes into it in which case, as a guess, it would take longer to drill into your 'subconscious' if only writing it.

However, doing both: writing it can only reinforce your determination so it's a plus.

Yes, it’s like a double whammy. Firstly you have the metaphysical power in sending out written words (as opposed to just thoughts) and then the process of writing them also imprints them upon your subconscious mind, particularly if you read them over afterwards.

It can work either way. Writing the affirmations certainly brings more mental focus to the affirmation which helps.

But the best way to know if it will be effective for YOU is to try it out for a week and see how you feel about it.

If it feels like it is bogging you down and you aren't feeling the feels of the affirmations, then try a different approach.

The point of affirmations, or any manifestation work, is to feel better after you have done. If you feel the same or better after, than you did before, then keep going.

If you feel worse, then switch it up to something else.

I would still say though that thinking affirmations is the best way to do it, because it’s easier to think a thought than to write one. For instance, you can think a thought anywhere, whereas to write one you would have to find a pen and paper. The important thing though is to check yourself when you’re having a spell of negative thinking and change it straight away. What you can do is to ask the Universe to send you ‘reminders’ to stop when thinking negatively. Things like car horns, fire alarms, incoming text messages, dropping keys on the floor and so on. Anything which interrupts the process, and reminds you to get back to your positivity.
