@ lovetruth: Yes ~ attributed to Dattatreya. Likewise you may enjoy the Ashtavakra Gita as a conversation between King Janak and sage Ashtavakra.

This is a trickier one. So if we narrow reality down to One, it's convenient to say "one substance", meaning Consciousness as the quality of the One/Self/Being. But 'substance' isn't a good enough word, it implies an object. So here the verse imo is saying that a substance is something defined with limits, whereas Reality is limitless. Reality is not a substance, not an object, not a thing. There is only the Self/Being/Consciousness, which is absolute Truth.
The Self is unchanging and unharmed by the world in the same way that a screen is unharmed by the explosions in a movie that appears on the screen. The Self is neither harmed nor unharmed, because the opposites do not really apply to the Self.
So although we could say that the Self is the core substance of the universe and is unharmed and unchanged by the appearance or disappearance of the universe, the Self is beyond these descriptions. The Self is neither substance nor no-substance, and neither harmed nor unharmed. Concepts and opposites are not Reality.

Chapter 1 verses 31-33
“31. When the pot is broken,/the space within it is absorbed in the infinite space and becomes undifferentiated.
When the mind becomes pure, I do not perceive any difference between the mind and the supreme Being.
32. There is no pot; there is no pot's interior space.
Neither is there an individual soul nor the form of an individual soul. Know the absolute Brahman, devoid of knowable and knower.
33. Know me to be that Self who is everything and everywhere at all times, the one who is eternal, steady, the All, the nonexistent, and the Existent.
Have no doubt.”
We are neither this form nor the mind
Who are we then, we may ask
Made in God’s image, we are eternal living light
To experience duality we live in this body cask
As formless presence we are more than the universe
We know it not because we are by senses hypnotised
Containerised in this shell we accept limitation
That is until truth of our true Self and God is realised
The shift needed is from duality to singularity
Or as scriptures say, ‘when our eye be single’
From objective to subjective awareness we become
Renouncing desires whence bliss pheromones mingle
When ego, the temporary earth life interface drops away
We then become that which transcends even formless soul
All manifestations are then seen as mere illusions
As the all that is, one with God, we then are finally whole

Let's look at one verse at a time. Imo the pot breaking hints at the dropping of the mental limits of identity. When the limits of identity are dropped it is like a breaking pot. The space within is known to be no different than the Supreme Being. The identity that was thought-based and seemed to limit the mind is dissolved, then the mind is known clearly to be unbounded and not different from the Supreme Being.

Okay, so we go deeper here. The pot (or the thought-based seemingly limited identity) isn't real and neither is there a limited space that it encloses. There is no limited self. It goes further and includes the soul in this - there is no limited individual soul and there is no real body or form in which the soul seems to incarnate. There is no separate knower, knowing or known. There is only Brahman. There is only God, the Supreme Being.
Imo it's telling us to let go of limited thinking, break the pot, and realise that there is only the Supreme Being.

Here it clarifies that the Supreme Being is the Self, everywhere and all time. Imo the Supreme Being is spaceless and timeless, yet encapsulating the appearance of space and time. The Self is like the still centre of the turning wheel of the world, yet it is the whole of the wheel.
The 'nonexistent and the Existent' is the tricky part here. It makes us look deeper beyond the appearance and concepts of opposites. The Supreme Being is What Is and what seems to be 'what is not'. So even though the world seems to be less than the Supreme Being, there is nothing other than the Supreme Being. The Self is all there is.

Thank you, lovetruth ~ would be delighted to listen to your understanding as well.
In our state of differentiated perception, we tend to be enraptured with colours of the rainbow, oblivious to the white light wherefrom prismatic refraction occurred, just as we are oriented not to notice not space but rather objects contained therein.

Chapter 1, verse 36
“Some seek nonduality, others duality.
They do not know the Truth, which is the same at all times and everywhere, which is devoid of both duality and nonduality.”
everything everywhere, all at once
the pulse of life in unending renewal
spontaneity has no need to rehearse
with love and light of God as life’s fuel
sacred geometry everywhere abounds
consciousness expands engulfing all
thus all manifestations are but illusions
so who in truth we are we must recall
self is living light self-aware and complete
this is the non-dual singularity sages seek
we pulsate in space-time dissolved peace
yet to grow in love don organic form weak
what is real and what may we call unreal
God alone is and is the only true knower
do not both duality and singularity entwine
which chakra is higher and which is lower
omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence
enjoying full freedom, is God’s effervescence
resplendent with love and light is God’s heart
everywhere all at once shines His vital essence

Here's my take on it. All seekers are looking for Truth, whether they believe it to be Oneness or worldly things. But this Truth is never found. The search isn't needed. The answer is always Here. The error is in believing that something is lacking, that Truth/The Supreme Being isn't Here, believing that God and Truth are somewhere out of reach.
Here is not a place, and neither is it no-place. It just is. There isn't duality or non-duality. There is just What Is. But even "What Is" doesn't accurately describe it, because it suggests that there is a "what is not", which there isn't. There is only What Is, making the term needless.
