Miss Hepburn,

This is the part that I like. What we often think of faith as being is something that is conditional and temporal. What you are describing are the odds that something will or will not happen. For me true faith can only be a calm certainty….you cannot even visualize the possibility of odds. To escape any possibility of the temporal one must have faith in the eternal life. For me it simply means that I must believe that God exists….that I believe his promises….and that by seeking him that he will respond in some way. If I have no faith in eternal life then I am only left with beliefs and calculating the odds……..

Is Faith blind .?
Faith is something that has to be accepted without any kind of evidence.

David, real quick. Re faith vs belief.
Ya got a person with so much faith in God...'He is love, has all power, even wants to heal people demonstrated by Jesus'.
All great!

BUT, the person remains unhealed, even at the hands of a healer, the Holy Spirit, asking and praying.
Why?
Often it's because of a conscious, but, often unconscious deep belief:
"God won't heal ME...I deserve this disease....I've been so bad,
this is why I'm so sick...it's a punishment. I know it. I deserve this."

Yet, they have so much faith in their loving, powerful Father God! (Yay.)
Big faith, crazy beliefs.

Well, that is sort of crazy, isn't it? So, God, our creator, created Adam and Eve and told them to fill and subdue the earth. Only stipulation was not to touch or eat the fruit from a certain tree. Warning was given as to the result of disobedience. Specifically, death and the sickness and disease that comes with that. So why would we pray to be relieved of that?

Exactly. Not saying that is a bad thing.

I do think people settle for the nice feeling of 'just' faith and they ARE blessed. Faith in the invisible is a sweet feeling, yes. :)

It's a way better feeling to know because of your own, personal, rock-solid exp,
than rely on words and other people's experiences...where it is hearsay, nothing tangible, pretty inspiring words
that uplift and fade 2 hrs after hearing them on Sunday.

Now, if you know someone for years that has been crippled and YOU see them healed...
well ----that is a bonafide personal exp!
You were there and knew the person healed. It's no longer faith ---you now know the miraculous power of the Invisible Holy Spirit.
It's not blind faith anymore!! And it never fades!

There's nothing better than personal experiences, who needs blind faith when you've had them....
