who first called Jesus the Christ?

Please excuse my ignorance. I am curious who first called Jesus the Christ? Or how did Jesus come to be known as Christ?

"Christ" means "the anointed one" or "the messiah, "Christ Jesus", meaning "the Messiah Jesus"" so it was probably somebody who believed Jesus to be the messiah who first said it.

Jesus came to be called "Jesus Christ" (meaning "Jesus the Khristós", i.e. "Jesus the Messiah" or "Jesus the Anointed") by Christians, who believe that his crucifixion and resurrection fulfill the messianic prophecies of the Old Testament.

It's interesting because seems like now days some think Christ is a last name, or a proper name for Jesus or it refers to spirit when originally it meant the Messiah.

I would guess a Greek was the first to call Jesus the Messiah or the Christ because Christ comes from the Greek word χριστός (chrīstós), meaning "anointed one". The word is derived from the Greek verb χρίω (chrī́ō), meaning "to anoint." In the Greek Septuagint, christos was used to translate the Hebrew מָשִׁיחַ (Mašíaḥ, messiah), meaning "[one who is] anointed".

I’ve always believed that the word Christ is an honorary title assigned to Jesus’s Father for the reason that when the Jewish Priests tried to accuse Jesus of proclaiming that he was the Christ, Jesus’s reply to them was ... “the Works that I do in MY FATHERS NAME (Christ), they bear Witness of me” ... and Jesus was always preaching the message that it’s his Father who saves.

However, I’ll admit it is all kind of confusing for the reason that Jesus is mentioned in the Koran by a different name, and the Koran refers to him as the Messiah ... with the only difference being that there is no mention of him dying on the cross. Rather, Muslims believe that Jesus ascended to Heaven while still alive.

Although the word Christ means Annointed One, my own understanding is that the word Christ is actually derived from the word “euCHaRIST.” The Greek word “Kyrios,” which is often interpreted as meaning “Lord,” as in “Our Lord Jesus Christ,” can also be interpreted as meaning Master.

the Angels actually were the first to say the Name "Christ." when they went to the Shepherds that were tending the flocks in the field ,(Luke 2:10,11 But the angel said to them: “Do not be afraid, for look! I am declaring to you good news of a great joy that all the people will have).

They implied the Christ....but they did not say the word. However you are probably correct that it was they who implied the Christ first.
