Jesus' pre-human existence has him being the first born of creation. He was also the first born of the Sons of God. Some translations, translate Sons of God as Angels. If Angel and Son of God are interchangeable, then Gabriel may have known about Jesus Christ and he might have learned that from Jesus when he was in his pre-human existence.
