Breathing to Stir the Chakras
I would suggest exploring breathing techniques, Pranayama as its called in Yoga-speak. Deep "cleansing" breaths, long slow breaths, working up to the 1-minute breath, with or without breath retention, etc. Such breathing exercises while focusing your mind on the subtle sensations along your spine (ie, chakras) will likely stir the energy therein. I stumbled upon this last year, one month into a meditation practice, and have been earnestly working on Pranayama ever since. It can be a slow process, so patience and perseverance is needed I think. Everyone is different, however. It took me one month to really wake up spinal/chakra sensations, and what keeps me going (now 20 months into the meditation/Pranayama routine) are the physical sensations that I experience within the chakras...really astounding, not to mention very pleasurable :). Its what keeps me moving forward.
