I'm always assigning theme songs to people

So, this is both comical and weird. You know how in movies and video games there are sometimes characters who have their own theme tunes, and whenever they're on screen, their theme plays? Well, I'm pretty darn obsessed with music in general. It's a big part of my life. I like almost all kinds, and it can take my moods and energy levels all over the place. The weird thing is that whenever I'm listening to a song, if I happen to think of somebody in particular at that time or be talking to somebody or just 'feel' like the song could fit them in some way, it suddenly becomes like their personal theme song. From that point on, I can't even listen to the song without seeing them in my mind. It's not even a choice, really. I'll hear a song and somebody might enter my head and I feel like it is 'them'. This can also include instrumental music, and not necessarily match with things they tell me. For instance, if somebody always talks about love, then it might make sense that I imagine them if I hear a love song, but that's not always how it works.

Has anybody else ever done this or am I just alone with my problem? Haha.

I remember somebody I know used to say that whenever they'd be listening to music and see somebody passing in the street, they couldn't resist but imagine them striding along with the beat.

I used to relate people to songs if I had a strong attachment to them. But other than that can't say I've really done it.

You should assign theme tunes to everyone here.

I think the Universe is a grand symphony of sounds.. everyone creates their own theme tune by the way they live.. It just struck me maybe you are picking up on this somehow and relating it to the closest tune we have here on earth.

Hey Sunset Dragon, I wouldn't call it a problem. I would say its very creative ! I have certain memories of people connected with music, but I wouldn't say it is a theme song , it isn't just one song that I connect with someone........unless we don't have a lot of together memories. My songs are more memory based connections.

Interesting how your song isn't really connected to memories, but to thinking about a person.

Cool idea if you decided to give those on SF a theme song ! Either randomly when you think about them or by having someone request one ... whichever way works for you . I would like one if you are taking requests.

I don't really think I could take requests. It's usually quite a random thing. If, however, I happen to be browsing and a song comes to mind for somebody, I'll share it. ;)
