Why do so many people avoid working on their Lower Chakras?

i've noticed that many people seem more drawn to working with the higher chakras, often overlooking the foundational work needed on the first three. at the same time, when I look at the world, particularly through the lens of capitalism, I see a system that seems to keep people locked within the lower chakras,,, especially the first three. the root chakra remains shaky, as people struggle to meet their basic needs. to cope, we tend to overuse or even abuse the energy of the sacral chakra, seeking pleasure or distraction. And when things start to unravel, we try to fix everything through the solar plexus chakra, focusing on control, ambition, and personal power.

what's interesting is how this dynamic benefits certain elitists/practitioners or secret societies. they seem to deliberately raise their energy only up to the third chakra, blocking it from reaching the heart (Anahata). By doing this, they strengthen their grasp on money and power, but at the cost of compassion and true connection. It’s as if they’ve cut off the energy that could lead to a more balanced, fulfilling existence, all in the name of maintaining control over the material world. i am not advocating of this method.

this disconnection, I believe, explains many of the issues we see in leadership today, where power and profit are prioritized over empathy and collective well-being..... but at what cost? by neglecting the higher chakras, especially the heart, we lose sight of the deeper, more meaningful connections that could lead to a more harmonious society and relationships.

back to the topic, i kinda get it though, the appeal of working with the higher chakras often lies in the pursuit of spiritual experiences, transcendence, and a sense of connection to something greater, especially when life feels so dull with problems we can't fix...it’s exciting and feels like progress toward enlightenment or higher awareness and towards a positive change. however, many struggle to fix a strong root chakra because it requires grounding, dealing with survival needs, and confronting personal fears or insecurities. these are often uncomfortable or seem less glamorous, so people overlook this essential work, leaving them without a solid foundation for growth. without a balanced root, higher chakra work can lack stability and depth.

I think that, for example -> having great ideas vs applying those idea in action, there is a gap between that. the gap between having great ideas and applying those ideas into action is primarily bridged by the solar plexus chakra (Manipura), which governs personal power, confidence, and the ability to execute plans, in combination with the sacral chakra (Svadhisthana), responsible for creativity and drive, and the root chakra (Muladhara), which provides the grounding and stability necessary to turn ideas into practical, tangible reality. now... the chakra most associated with ideas and creativity is actually the third-eye chakra (Ajna - can generate a lot of visionary ideas and potential paths), but without a solid foundation in the lower chakras—especially the root (stability), sacral (creativity and motivation), and solar plexus (personal power and will) then those ideas can feel overwhelming or impossible to manifest. instead of having the strength and resilience to tackle roadblocks one at a time, people might get discouraged by obstacles, as their foundation is too weak to support the execution of their visions. it's like building a tower of ideas on a shaky ground, everything collapses when faced with real-world challenges.

The answer is quite simple. Most who set foot on the spiritual path do so because they have issues in life.
Focusing on something else makes those issues seem less powerful. And it feels better than dealing with issues that are often deep seated and painful.
A form of escapism.

Also for some, I think for many actually, it is like a status thing to be able to say they are spiritual, they work with their spirit guides and so on.

And let's face it: few want to do the basic work.
Like when building a house and having to lay the foundation, sewers, cables and so on.
You can't yet see anything of the beautiful house it is to become.
People want to see something, have something to show for, have/see/feel result.
People can't be bothered with the foundation, for whatever reason, which can also be enthusiasm or joyful impatience.

You don't have to wait with the higher chakras by the way. You can do it hand it hand with the lower ones. That way you get result of both.
Plus you can't get higher than you can go deep anyway.

It's as below, so above.
Personally I feel that clarifies more than "as above, so below".

i agree with a lot of what fairy crystal said but i have another aspect too...

if I look at them honestly the lower chakras have a lot to say about our animalistic nature. But as a society we've gone far away from that; in most cases all thinking like an animal does gets you labeled as 'impure' or even 'evil'. Unless you are dealing with domesticated cats or dogs that can be easily stomached lol....

So it isn't as good, to deal with lower chakras, when I am interested in communing with other people. As I feel like, others will just steamroll over me if I go for that kind of difference from the 'norm'..... sometimes much nicer to go to the higher realms where vanity gets me further lol... or at least it would be if people didn't steamroll over me there, too... but it doesn't look like others much have that problem so i figure that is why a lot of people will try to deal with upper worlds rather than lower. Sigh.

(part of it is loneliness and part of it is not having anyone to tell me ho to deal with it lol)

"And it feels better than dealing with issues that are often deep seated and painful. A form of escapism."

Now that I look back at the past 10-15 years of my life, I can see how this makes sense. My Ajna works 'great' and I can create a vision for my life and where I am heading at. In following and living my vision of how I want to live my life, I notice that the ratio of knowing vs applying is not where I want it to be, and so this compells me to nurture the first 3 chakras.

basically, I realize that balancing vision with grounded action is a must for most of the suffering to go away and dreams to turn into reality,, escapism through the upper chakras, like Ajna, can feel empowering, but without nurturing the foundational lower chakras (root, sacral, and solar plexus), this vision often remains unfulfilled.. The path can be seen and perhaps temporarily even feel the destination, but is nothing but a glimpse without the actual work. When we are young, we have to do many mistakes to understand the patterns we repeat, our strengths and weaknesses and so on.. and become a bit 'smarter' in how we deal with ourselves and others.

PS frustration comes / is created when one’s vision is strong but actions are lacking.

I believe that what you have said is valid, so I am not refuting it. and as always, there's so much more to the story. avoiding this work on lower chakras can lead to instability in higher chakras also.

it's just that after so many years i finally start to get a taste for the 'game' of life, it isn't how I thought in the past. so people often avoid discomfort when dealing with the lower chakras because they involve confronting challenging, deep-seated issues related to survival, emotions, and personal power and all that...... For example, just thinking about financial insecurity (root chakra) can bring up anxiety I’ve even avoided checking investments or getting back to work projects because of that feeling, that overwhelming emotion we all know well, you can't even be fully present sometimes..

But so many years of my life I have failed to understand that emotions are actually signals, just like the emotion of regret signals me to Think and make a decision rather than being tormented by it forever in a loop through avoiding it and just feeling it (and is difficult, yes, as it should be). But avoiding these areas just keeps you stuck, making it harder to bring your visions into reality and really grow, which leads me to think that one could get caught up in an endless game of visions adjusting for what the roots cannot do.

I can say one thing, every single time after facing something and crying out deeply about it, something happens, the 'problem' may still be there but I no longer have a blockage that keeps me stuck into fearing it which only feeds it more. I deal with it from a place where I accept it and feeling lighter about it. this emotional release feels like mental alchemy, where desperation and frustration can be transformed into action and progress; and the movie The Pursuit of Happyness from 2006 is a good example.

Focus on how facing discomfort releases blockages, and when there are not as many blockages you can move freely past obstacles. this process lightens the load. facing discomfort -> emotional release frees energy -> this creates room for real progress and to let new energy in your life. same can be about our preconceptions, habits, people etc.

Avoiding discomfort leads to more pain in the long run, it becomes obvious when you finally see it.. I’ve been there too, avoiding discomfort without realizing the long-term effects. I just didn’t understand how this mechanism worked. But now, with recent experiences over the past 2-3 years, a kind of courageous energy has grown within me, allowing me to face discomfort and other challenges head-on.

Beautiful. It is as if I am willing to talk with the workers from the construction's site at my house and get in the dirt to get things done, but also go and discuss with the designer/architect in a luxurious warm cozy place while having a nice dinner and a good productive chat and vision :)

Well said FairyCrystal.

Never underestimate the power of the human ego and human greed to get and to have what is best and most beneficial through the shortest path, least time, and least effort. It is beyond simply impatience.

That is not a criticism of humanity, but rather to highlight how challenging it is for us to evolve spiritually away from our ego towards love. But that is just the way we wanted it with our very long term human adventure of finding ourselves.

Nothing fast tracks our spiritual growth to a more expanded consciousness than having sincere unconditional love in heart and mind. The love energy will take care of cleansing, unblocking, and purifying our chakras and more.

After all, love is the most benevolently powerful and highest vibration multi-dimensional quantum energy and more.

By design, love unlocks many extra-ordinary abilities we all could have that will give us far more control over our health, our life, and our personal reality.

Love is the Universal Truth, the way, and the life.

Then it should be no surprise that all spiritually advance and connected human messengers here throughout the ages uniformly taught people a better way of living life that aligns with love that encompasses benevolence, compassion, and joy.

Love is the key to all our human problems. Hard part is we have free will to choose love or ego.

That should be a big clue as to why a very tiny part of us are here in the physical form pretending to be humans with a self-imposed Veil of Forgetfulness and be given free will to freely choose.

Having equal access to both light and dark energies, what will we choose and how will we behave that some call it a test between high and low consciousness or a test between light and dark energies on this newbie planet.

The big question is, could we eventually uncover the love within each of us that is our true nature, and then express that beautiful love to this young dark world through compassionate action.

Love generates light. And darkness vanishes in the presence of light.

Good to keep that in mind because many on the spiritual path tend to fight the dark instead of generating light.

We are each a powerhouse of light when we are awaken to what we truly are.

All the best!

I’d go with what Fairy Crystal has said whilst holding onto my view that instead of doing any practice to focus on a this or that chakra, of which, honestly speaking we know nothing about, other than concepts read here and there, it is optimal to soften attention and gentle touch, moment to moment, in real life as it unfolds, mindfully correcting our responses to be in alignment with love or unity consciousness.

The chakras, kundalini, they take care of themselves.

Ultimately, when the feeling of being separate from source thins out, there is no this vs that, no chakra, no kundalini or we may say, we are the all of it.

This said, yes, we can look at the polarities our choices at each chakra, which correspond to different vibrations. At each chakra, there is an attachment reflection ted as fear and desire. What do we choose? Material or ethereal, lust or love, power or renunciation, good or evil, vanity or humility? These choices which require us to ‘walk the talk’ align us with the vibration we wish to be at as of now.

Always we choose. We cannot seek to attain, we must become what we seek. That, in my view, is the gist of it.

I have found in my practice that a sensation of some kind would become strong in an area that people have told me are chakras, and I'd get a bit excited about it because it is apparently special, but then I realised having some feelings seem more important than other feelings was a distraction, so I think a whole body approach is for the best, without preferences for this or aversions toward that.

Unseeking Seeker... it is a nice belief that you describe, but... how would one soften one's view and approach etc. when they still have a lot of issues?
And you can't get round it: everyone has those to some extent.
These issues can have started in utero even, but certainly when very young.
It's very logical that happens as until approx. 6 years old we are in Theta brainwaves. That means we absorb everything as is, as truth, as fact. There are no filters.
It goes straight in and that way end up in the subconscious to remain there for the rest of our life unless we make an effort to do something about it.
And you do have to make an effort as you can't just get into the 'operating system' (subconscious) like that.

You can then be loving, soften, and so on, but deep down in the subconscious the issues, false and painful beliefs still drive you.
Meaning you'd put on a fake persona by softening and being loving and gentle.
You can do all that and deep down still feel sad, hurt, not truly happy and fulfilled. It could and likely would create feelings of guilt (I'm not good enough) and skew your personality because the inner and what you desperately try to be do not match.
And you can't for the love of the Goddess figure out why it doesn't work.

95% of what we think -and then act upon- comes directly from the subconscious!!
You can attempt to fight the massive 95% with the remaining 5% for the rest of your life, which is exhausting and a battle you'll lose.
Or you can choose to change the 95% by working on deep-seated issues.

If you want to become a truly aligned happy person you will have to get in the 'operating system' to deal with the issues.
As it is, these happen to reside in the first 3 chakras, for the most part.

That doesn't mean you can only get there by working on chakras. The chakras will get balanced, cleared, unblocked and activated when you work on your issues.
You can also do both as they of course go hand in hand.
It's handy to then have a very elaborate description of what gets stuck in the craw of each chakra. A very in depth description.

Diana Cooper's book on orbs describes what issue can be held in each chamber of each chakra. Some chakras have 33 chambers, like the Heart, other less or more.
I do believe she also has that info in one of her later books as the one on orbs is out of print, but not certain.
I've never seen that in any other book, nor heard this info this specifically from anyone else. It's of great help as you can then see how much per chakra you've already dealt with, or not.

As for clearing it, I myself have done both ways, alternating between them. So either by working on issues or by working with clearing chakras.
Slightly different approach but boils down to the same thing.

PS Not trying to tell you you are wrong, genuinely asking how you see all this with what you said.

I know from my own Experiences that not many people think of the Chakras

it is only when they understand what they are,

that they take notice of them.
