Is Reiki and healing touch the same thing
Or rather "Are" they the same thing.
I have healing touch done once on the job. It felt relaxing , person didn't actually touch me , just the energy around me. They said it felt sharp around the edges of my shoulders (which meant something bad related to stress).
Years later I had a Reiki session. I found it was less relaxing and less intuitive. She didn't give me much feedback about what what was discovered.
So anyways, are they the same?

Most energy healing techniques have developed to support our awareness of energy in the body and all around us. It is with intent, we direct it or not. It’s always there, it doesn’t disappear.
So I’d say yes that energy is just energy, but what it’s intent and support entails, is often addressed by the system that set it up initially.
Different strokes for different folk ..also comes into this too.
Being aware of the changes moving through you, no matter what is used is always good practice to notice you differently, how that feels, what that means for you. Checking into your own mind/body and letting it address you where you’re at in need at any given moment.

you cannot base your own judgment about these two healing modailities by just two healers. Reiki is universal life force energy. so it can heal greatly. But in the hands of an immature healer it will still do it's work but the healer may not be friendly where as the Healing touch person may be doing almost the same thing and be more helpful. The reverse is also possible. Why dont you learn Reiki yourself and give yourself healing? It is very easy to learn.
