I use affirmations for all of my chakras most days. I enjoy using my third eye and crown more than my lower chakras, but understand the importance of having a balanced chakra system.

@ FairyCrystal # 8 ~ interesting you mention 33 chambers of the heart, the spine has 33 vertebrae too, each playing at a different frequency when the kundalini moves up along it.
I don’t know about Diana Cooper, I’ll try and look up her work, if you have a pdf, please share the link. However, ultimately kundalini energisation is like the blossoming of a rose, it happens on its own.

There is no order in the ‘way people chose to seek or open’ if people reside and stay as they chose, they’ll learn eventually as the balance moves through, whether that is by choice or no choice, it does..
In the end as a whole person, chakras are simply ‘parts of the whole’ , you can focus there or not. I prefer bejng aware of all of myself, as a totality. I’m not so focused on energy centres nowadays, but people do and it’s just the chosen way..when I did focus on the chakras as such, I did learn all energy centres operate as one, so seems silly to only focus on half or upper chakras alone.
In saying that, where I focus intention, I can naturally feel those energy centres if I need too.

From a personal perspective I have sexual trauma and working on my root chakra actually hurts me, I can feel the pressure inside me & I throw up. I have to be very relaxed to even think the word root chakra.
I do work on it internally but only when I can.
From an outside world standpoint my “needs” are easily met, safe, secure, food, warmth, love, family, financially stable, holistic & sustainable lifestyle.

@ FairyCrystal ~ it seems I did not fully address your question to me.
Well, firstly, there are many paths, so if someone wishes to meditate in a this or that way, do breath work, deity worship, try to focus on a this or that chakra, I’d say alright but what are we attempting really? The kundalini or Divine Mother represents an intelligent energy of unfathomable magnitude, depth and subtlety beyond our comprehension. My view is that we should just be a humble receptor and not try to interfere with the process.
There are several levels of understanding. Initially we may think we wish to attain some power or siddhi or whatever. Such desires are evidently ego driven. If this isn’t so and we are actually in a state of non-doership and surrender, why not trust the currents to carry us?
Now, there are many highly evolved people who have not experienced any such energisation. Yet they have recognised the truth of singularity, seen the light of Self. So, as I said, there are many paths.
In my view the inner follows the outer, not the other way around. What this means is that we must refine our sensibilities and become gentle and mindful, pure of heart breath by breath in lived reality, in thought, word and deed. This is what we signed up for and there are no shortcuts.
This said, I do readily admit that in my case, I have been graced with spontaneous kundalini activation in a profound and cognisable way since the last 7 years or so. Kundalini essentially fixates our attention in the ever present bliss current, thereby dissolving ego. Once ego thins out, we see our true Self, which is living light, outside space-time. The journey yet continues.

i think, the salient point in what you said here is that my own ego has me forever trying to go somewhere else, or be something else, or attract something else to me. And I see that as a problem.
To the extent you can do what you said all that goes away, problem solved... but at the same time i think i'd go bananas if i told myself i couldn't interact with the world around me just because I have this awful ego that I've got... that i had to just sit still and never do anything other than just let things happen to me....

@ FallingLeaves ~ I’m not suggesting we be insipid or become a recluse. The orientation we can get to is fullness in emptiness, vibrance in nonchalance, navigating life in a continuum of present moments which are ever present, in a celebratory mode of embrace and release, leaving behind no residue.
The Hindu scriptures have a term for this ~ mukti (liberation, freedom) with bhukti (enjoyment).
