curious about cards

Hi I was given tarot cards does this matter if I was to use them as I always thought you had to be drawn to them to make a connection with them. Does the same go for angel cards?

Yes, you can still use them (it sometimes helps to be drawn to a particular deck, however it's not essential).
When people say you need to 'connect' with the deck, it just means you understand the message of the image/card and the underlying layers (which comes through practice).
You can find decent free learning resources online to guide you through the basics of reading tarot and get you started.
I can't answer for angel cards as I don't use them.

Please respect that I do not respond to reading requests via PM.

I don't think it matters how you acquire your cards--whether they are given to you or you buy them for yourself. There are some decks that I own that really draw me in because of their art work, but I don't use them much because I don't feel like there is a connection to them as there is with others deck I own.

I own the traditional RW deck that everyone probably thinks of when they think of tarot. I got it because I figured that would be the easiest to learn from, even though I don't have a connection to it, unlike some of my other decks.

I've also bought a deck before at a used bookstore which I read with because I have a better connection with it than others I own.

Use what is comfortable to you! I don't think there is a "way" you have to do things. People have different preferences when it comes to their cards.

I think when you have a connection with a deck you will probably have better readings since you are drawn to the cards and it might be easier to interpret them. But then again, that's what I think! It may be entirely different for you. :)

If you're asking questions about them, you must be drawn to them?

Think of it like this...

Some people you know are acquaintances. You might not know a whole lot about them, but you know of them, and have no problems talking to them. They would be like the decks you might not have a real connection with, but you still use them.

Then you have your close friends, you know them deeply. They would be like the decks you have a connection with and know from using them over time--you know their meanings and can read them well, just like 55Degrees said.
