My analogy would be; The driver, you/your soul/spirit. Parks the broken down/ crashed/ run out of fuel car and exits. Your chess piece is no longer playing in this round. Depends on how you left your body depends on if you need to return. Based on karmic debt, lessons learnt/not learnt or have a mission-specific purpose to come back.
My father died when I was 25. My mother 6 months ago. I was devastated by my father's death. As I didn't get to say I loved him and that I didn't know what I do know about death. Most people would say I was cold and heartless at my mothers funeral. I had my poker face on and was relieved she had passed as she was no longer in pain. My understanding of death is that you simply leave the playing field until the next game is ready for you. My opinion is that death is over-sensationalised. Death is just the beginning. Because of the unknown, many people give it the stigmatism of what it is now, sad and mournful. Yeah sure, you'll miss whoever passed away in your life. But remember one thing. It is only a game. We are all connected because we are all fragments of Source.

Your view of death doesn't upset my apple cart in the least but I see things much more simply and also - I think - much more reassuringly.
Yours is certainly one view of what happens but does that really work for you? Are you comfortable you're seeing things correctly?
I have absolutely no desire to try to change your view if you're happy with it but I would try to help you consider things from an alternative perspective if that's what you'd like.

This Earth life, is a "reality" that we are living moment by moment, for approximately 90 ish years give or take.
This Earth life, is exactly the same as living in the spiritual heavens. Both are real & tangible, though they are slightly different in their construction.
Both realities are constructed from the same, invisible spiritual matter of the one & only spiritual universe.
Also, we are not playing a chosen character whilst here on Earth. That concept is a false belief that has been filtering through spiritual organisations for way to long.
& if you are interested, I could relay to you, what spiritual beings, believe is the truth in regards to where & what we were before this starting this Earthly life.

Good on you for picking up on the typo.

When folk start talking - as often they do - about this dimension being illusory and those beyond/before/after it being 'real' I always ask them first to define real and illusion.
Then I challenge them that ALL dimensions outside of source are as real or as illusory as every other. And I say that everything we experience anywhere is real; it's real to the individual experiencing it.
Nobody's real - whichever dimension they're in - is any more, or any less, real than anyone else's.....

Yes, everyone has a right to their own opinion. There a those who challenge peoples beliefs as I do, but without judgement. What I say can be interpreted in many ways. As it does for others and their beliefs. I don't believe I would, or others need to justify themselves of their beliefs as long as it is true to them. I am more than happy for you to express your opinion on this. As we learn from each other.
From my perspective, my awakening allowed me to develop my claircognizant ability. As arrogant as it may sound, I am, at the best of times able to put a question that I've been pondering, even subjects I have no formal understanding of. Depending on the complexity of the question the answer comes from minutes to days. Where it comes from a strong feeling tells me I can access the Akashic records. Another aspect of my awakening is truth-seeking. As a child and teen I would lie about things like there was no tomorrow. As part of my awakening process which took decades, I find it very difficult to talk Cow Pies. As I seek (yes bobjob, seek, NOT speak) the truth in anything and everything. I call it like I see it and understand it. Whether the information I receive is misinterpreted or incomplete. I would be honoured for you to enlighten me with your views/perspective. So it can possibly fill in the gaps I missed.

Based on what you've said here I don't think I can offer anything.
