There Is A Fifth
------------------
From the start of the new day
We stirred upon the dunes of primeval thought
And wandered far beyond the way
Of fog. For frame of meaning fought
We the rolling streams of pain,
They cannot hold us down again
To rip to shreds our hearts' desire,
To melt us away in their awful fire,
To drown us to death in their foul smash-up,
Not today, no, we won't give up.

No, we won't give up
So long as strong within us rings
The trail, the tune of human spirit
That soars above, over all it sings
Out so loud! that fear and hatred
In their soggy, sullen gloom
Will not withstand the risen bloom
Of love.

No, we won't give up,
Though Eris herself fans the wayward sail,
The light of liberty will ne'er falter nor fail,
No death devour, no force derail
Our drive for freedom, that holy grail,
That hallowed hearth that kindles the whole
Of passion to give, for that we believe...
There is no greed can capture or cleave
Devotion achieved in the ardor of the soul.
