Hello the forum!
I am new here and I was referred here by a friend. I have visited a lot of online forums, but this one is completely new to me. I have no idea where to begin.
It all seems a bit overwhelming because I wouldn't normally post on a forum like this. I have looked into a lot of the info that I see threads on here, but I have never really talked about it openly.
Any tips for a first-timer? Thank you in advance for any replies

Hi
That’s wonderful that a friend referred you.
It’s not at all unusual to feel overwhelmed when we are venturing into new territory. KNOW that you’ll sort it out faster than you might think. You’ll probably encounter things that you’re not sure about, that may seem improbably, weird, wise, or looney. LOL. There are a wide range of POVs & this is a good thing. One of the most useful things we can do when exploring new territory of all kinds is to have the freedom to simply peruse information w/o making much evaluation about it, placing it in a Hmmm???, To Be Considered mental file. It can remain there as long as needed, amended, discarded, or moved into the belief file. Combine this w/ the flexibility to change one’s beliefs as one grows & encounters new info.
Enjoy exploring.

Hello Wayseer and welcome to the forum !!
As I recall when I first came to SF it was a bit over whelming I sort of just "lurked" for a while and posted when I felt comfortable. Enjoy the forum !!

Hrm. I will stay lurking for awhile. I do not feel like I am ready to just jump into any topics just yet. That is why I posted here first.
I guess when something really sparks my interest I will post my opinions. I do not want to create arguments though. Jumping in head first will do that. I would rather have a intellectual debate rather than an argument personally. I will tip-toe for awhile.
Thank you everyone for the responses so far! I see that some who have responded so far have similar views as me That is good to see.

I didn't mean jump in headfirst ! tiptoeing is always nice, and so is * whispering * especially when many in the forum are sleeping (different time zones )
of course, just being new to the forum I am sure it seems overwhelming with all there is to read
take your time

Welcome to the forum, Wayseer! I'm fairly new here too but felt comfortable very quickly. There are some amazing people on this forum!
BTW, I really like your name, Wayseer. There was a wayseer group started on facebook recently which I found fascinating, especially the video that they distributed. I did the test and turns out I'm a wayseer too, but I kinda knew that before doing the test ; )

@quest
Thank you for noticing. I liked the video as well. I too feel like I fit the wayseer manifesto.
I hope to find more people with similar thoughts here
You have found your tribe, welcome.

I am amanda, and as you are able to see, I love to write. Toss me anything and I'm sure I can put it into writing. I write for many various reasons: preparing, assisting, documenting, venting, etc. Writing is a fantastic form of conversation, and it is one of the best ways to share what you know to everyone and learn from other people as you go along.
