Five "Jokers"

I only remember one event in this dream although many things happened. I was trying to avoid these four people that called themselves "the Joker" (from Batman), three men and one woman, all in various costumes. They were causing mayhem, but eventually their activities led them to meet each other and the actual Joker. The five of them stood together, and the four argued about who was the real one. The Joker became irritated and slit the throat of the one nearest. The others reacted in horror but he killed them before they could run. Then he laughed in the middle of the circle of bodies and declared, "Oh, I kill myself!"

I watched all this from afar, afraid of being attacked as well, but once the imposters were dead, the Joker walked away.

Shivers down the spine man.
The whole story. Excellence.

What do you think it meant?

Oh, that's a good one! I noticed in total there are 5 "jokers" in your dream. I feel like that total number can hold its own significance maybe.

Haha, wish I could take conscious credit.

The best I can figure out is I heard about the book, "The Wisdom of Psychopaths: What Saints, Spies, and Serial Killers Can Teach Us About Success" and heard some of my friends interpreting this book as giving a case for emulating psychopathic behavior to achieve success.

I displayed psychopathic traits when I was younger. I've worked hard to be more empathetic so I could function in society and not cause hardship for loved ones. So, the idea that psychopathic traits can award success in life really grinds my gears.

Thanks for suggesting this... I wonder if 'five' symbolized a pentagram. The "Jokers" were standing in an orientation of the five points. I had a second dream similar to this one except instead of the Joker it was "the devil" presiding over a game where everyone was wearing frightful masks. I told the devil that he must have some love for people to create games for them to play. Dare I say the devil has a soft spot? This set him off, and he stopped the game and murdered the participants with a knife. I escaped unharmed, somewhat confounded and amused that he took me so seriously.

The character of these dreams reminds me of Mephistopheles from Faust.
