Thank you! I have been searching for something like this. I wanted to use mandalas, but I couldn't find any specifically for opening the 3rd eye.
For anyone looking for how to balance and open the root chakra: besides meditating on it, you should do any exercises that stretch, loosen, and strengthen the muscles around it. This includes kegal exercises, leg stretches that target the hamstrings and groin, perhaps even learn to do the splits. It is very hard to move energy into an area where the muscles are tight, and most people don't worry about this area of their body.
As far as getting started into yoga, if you have a nintendo Wii... get yourself a balance board. I got one for $8 at goodwill, but I'm sure you can find a cheap one on ebay. Get the game called wii fit, (they also have a wii fit plus). It shows you various yoga poses starting from easy to advanced. It turns it into a game, where you earn points for how well you keep your center of balance and things like that. Once you learn the poses, you can do them any time, anywhere.
