Lightbulb Reoccurring dream of sharks

I have this reoccurring dream of a shark- I’m scared in the dreams and all my fears of sharks and deep water are surfacing…

At times I don’t see the shark but the sharks ‘there’ in my dream at least prominently…

Even if there isn’t water that I see or go in - the fear is there

But also the dream starts to turn even more weirder by the shark is going to come up from the floor boards or concrete in room in a house- I’m flinching like any minute it will break through through—- it never does … it’s just the presence..

I’ve had it a few times … I live in the uk and there are barley any sharks. I swim quite a few times in each month.. if that helps..

I couldn’t for the life of me understand why I’m having this reoccurring nightmare lol

The dream relates to some situation or person in waking life on the day prior to getting the dream. Everytime you get the dream see if you can relate it to what happened the previous day, that made you fearful of being attacked in some everyday situation. Is it the days you go swimming. Or is it a work situation or family or partner. Only you can relate it to what's happening in your life and face the fear.

Sorry about that nightmare, ough. Understand you must have woken up in a sweat. I watched this show the other day and they said that some nightmares we have is to prepare us on how to avoid, handle an upcoming situation. This does not have to be about sharks in itself but something else.

It was quite interesting. The study had been made on some kids. Some kids had had recurring nightmares about being bullied. Someone (a grown up) was asking them to through vision imaging how to cope, how to act in those type of situations and later on they said it felt so good that they had stood up to the bully. The other group of kids had not had any nightmares of being bullied.

Then what happened was that they would trick these kids. They would call out kids from the group with no bully-nightmare to make them think their mom was waiting for them, and as they were to pass they were to witness a larger boy pick on a smaller boy. The ones with no nightmares just walked right by.

BUT there was this boy in the group who used to have the bully-nightmares and he reacted by taking up his phone, filming and banging on the window screen between and made eye contact with the bully, staring at this larger boy (He was so cute!!!). I could see he was afraid and still he did it. Such empathy. Such fierce (I actually got tears in my eyes watching this but I'm sensitive so go figure). There was another one from the bully group who went and got another grown up (his mom) but by then the bully and the bullied were gone.

I know one of my biggest nightmares were really about me being prepared and ready, and I was, and that hindered a terrible accident, as I knew in the dream I was vulnerable and not prepared to what happened.

Well, water is about emotions, and this is what shark means according to dream interpretations:

Sharks, as aquatic creatures, are connected to emotions and instincts. So the negative associations of sharks may be linked to negative feelings, particularly those we're trying to suppress. Dreams featuring sharks may be our subconscious mind trying to get us to confront how we really feel.

Since you sometimes don't even see it but sense it, or it is stuck behind a floor but there, I'd say this is the separation between conscious & subconscious and trying to keep something suppressed that scares you.

Thanks Lostsoul13, you should have seen him - he was so cute! that little boy that wanted and did stand up to the bully the most.

I was gonna add too that it could be past life fragments but then I am always on about past life so this time I figured I will just keep quiet on that theory, LOL. But IF it was past life maybe then you would have it when you were a young child...?
