I see it more as a process than a thing in and of itself. Even so, you can definitely see and feel a New Age environment in certain places, like spiritual book stores, retreats, groups etc.

Common beliefs: karma and reincarnation, Indian guru's, Jesus is another enlightened master, healing crystals, OOBEs and NDEs, Blavatsky's teachings, Atlantis and Lemuria, a coming age of peace.
Usual mentality and focus: submissive, conflict-avoidant, introverted, peace seeking.

I would say the New Age reflects an era of consumerism, postmodernism and cultural relativism.

If I was to view the New Age with skepticism I might accuse them of rampant syncretism, an ardor similar to those drawn to conspiracy theories and fueled by those seeking to profit financially………

To me, the Christianize/Jewish aspects of the New Age movement is trying to get a grasp on the Elohists' viewpoints found in the Bible. Many, if not everyone on this Forum, resonates with the views of the Elohists!

Happiness is the result of an enlightened mind whereas suffering is caused by a distorted mind.

I was introduced to Science of Mind, aka Religious Science back in the 1980's and it's considered New Age. Getting into this work has been a lifesaving/changing times. Things are a bit shaky NOW since the virus drama we've been put through but I'm HOPING the Science of Mind principles prevail in life for all of us.
